A small heirloom that holds a vast story.

This hand-carved miniature Ashanti Stool is a scaled-down version of the traditional royal seat of the Ashanti people of Ghana. Exquisitely crafted to bring cultural depth and artistry to any modern space.

Perfectly sized for bookshelves, console tables, or curio collections, this miniature Ashanti stool carries the same heritage and symbolism as its full-sized counterpart. Each piece is lovingly carved by an Ashanti artisan using sustainably sourced hardwood.

Each stool is handmade, making every piece truly unique. As a result, slight variations in size, shape, and finish may occur. These natural differences are part of the stool’s character and craftsmanship, not imperfections.

Origin & Craftsmanship

Each miniature stool is handcrafted in Ashanti Region, Ghana, by skilled artisans who preserve the ancestral carving traditions of the Ashanti kingdom. Working with ethically sourced repurposed wood, artisans carve, smooth, and polish every detail using hand tools, ensuring no two stools are ever identical.

This miniature edition follows the same meticulous process as full-sized ceremonial stools, blending authentic heritage craftsmanship with modern functionality. Its sustainable creation process honors both the environment and the meaning of the stool a celebration of culture in its purest form.

Design & Symbolism

The Nyansapo Adinkra symbol, known as the “wisdom knot,” is one of the most revered symbols in Ashanti culture. It represents intelligence, ingenuity, patience, and wisdom. The qualities of a person who is both knowledgeable and deeply thoughtful.

The name Nyansapo translates to “the knot of wisdom,” signifying the belief that true wisdom is both complex and interconnected, guiding one’s actions with discernment and balance.

In this stool, the Nyansapo motif is meticulously hand-carved into the wood, its intricate form embodying the depth of intellect and creativity that defines the Ashanti people.

Care

Dust regularly using a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp (not wet) microfiber cloth.

Avoid harsh chemicals, detergents, or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the wood’s natural finish.
